While a lot of shoes are now produced by industrial mass production, there are still traditional shoemakers out there that make them by hand!
In the past couple of years, a lot of 'Shoemaking' courses have been popping up which teach people how to make their own pairs of shoes! Typically, they are being taught how to make a sandal or simple flat shoe as shoemaking is challenging work - especially once you get into all of the different techniques you can learn and use to create more complex styles.
A lot of people have started to become more interested in slow-fashion and artisanal values - which makes these types of DIY courses so popular!
Personally, I think it's always great to learn new and different skills - especially if you get a new pair of shoes out of 'em!
